Amazon’s Innovative Approach to Sourcing Climate Smart Wood
October 29th , 2026 : 12:00 PM PT
This session opens with a brief intro to Amazon’s DII5 mass timber delivery station, then presents a new transparency-driven framework for sustainable wood sourcing across nine North American Timbersheds. Commissioned by Amazon and developed by ZGF Architects, Blackbriar, NEFF, Skanska, and Sustainable Northwest, the research moves beyond “all wood is good” vs. “only certified wood is good” — establishing region-specific, good-better-best criteria for harvest practices, ecological impact, and climate smart forestry. Attendees will learn how traceability and disclosure can complement certification to drive meaningful impact in mass timber supply chains.
Presenters: Kristen Dotson - Amazon - Sustainable Buildings, Amazon Sustainability, Yamini Bhatt - Amazon - Sr. Sustainability Program Manager – Emerging Tech, Jason Grant - World Wildlife Fund - Manager, Corporate Engagement - Forest Team
