Designers and builders need practical tools to implement their climate-smart wood procurement approaches.
As firms and projects are increasingly committed to offering climate-smart wood sourcing for their clients, specification language has been consistently identified as a high value development area for CSWG. In response to this demand, CSWG and its partners have launched design collaboration process on two model specification approaches:
- An UPDATED transparency and traceability-focused specification with supporting disclosure forms, designed to support the diversity of disclosure objectives that may exist across a project’s procurement approach. These tools are available for free download and testing on potential projects.
- A specification focused on intentional sourcing that articulates a range of potential climate-smart forestry attributes that project teams may wish to incorporate, in alignment with the goals of their project and values of their clients.
